On 30 May 2023 the Chamber of Commerce of Salerno hosted the final event of Rete di scuole per vendite in rete, the school-to-work project promoted by AICEL, the Italian e-commerce association, together with Anpal Servizi.
About 70 students from the fourth and fifth year classes of four secondary schools, two in Naples and Torre Annunziata and two in Salerno, presented the results of a whole school year of work. Their assignment was real: to design an e-commerce platform for Pastificio La Fazenda, a pasta maker in Pagani, and to plan the marketing and administrative activities needed to sell its products online. The most effective project would be used to build the company’s online shop.
My role
As AICEL’s head of communication and marketing, I followed the project and worked with the students on the digital side of their work: how an online shop is built, how to bring visitors to it and how to turn them into customers. Seeing young people get so involved in e-commerce, with a real company as their client, was one of the most satisfying experiences of the year.
The project, now in its second edition after the 2022 pilot in Calabria, was supported by partners such as UPS, Dap Sides Eurologistica and MultiSafepay, who also held webinars for the students.
